Jim Struthers Joins the Dermatology Foundation as Director of Development

EVANSTON, Ill. (February 11, 2021) – The Dermatology Foundation welcomes Jim Struthers as Director of Development. Struthers brings over 25 years of leadership experience to the position, primarily in fundraising and marketing in foundations and nonprofit healthcare organizations. Working with the Foundation’s executive team, Struthers will progress the organization’s annual philanthropic activities.

“Jim Struthers is a clear choice to help us advance the Foundation’s philanthropic fundraising mission. He will build on his ability to forge strong donor relationships while extending our ties within the medical and scientific community. His business acumen and broad professional expertise will help guide our annual decision-making imperatives,” said John Bournas, Executive Director of the Dermatology Foundation.

Struthers brings significant experience leading multi-million-dollar, multi-channel fundraising campaigns for national and local organizations. He has raised more than $200 million over the course of his career across a variety of nonprofit sectors that provide disaster relief, education funding, and promote basic human needs and public health.

“I am thrilled to join an organization that connects research with patients. My principal role will be to raise the vital funds physician scientists need to advance their innovative research. I look forward to working towards that goal with my colleagues and in doing so, fortifying relationships between donors, researchers and patients,” said Struthers.

Jim Struthers has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Chicago Association of Direct Marketers (CADM), Chicago Council on Planned Giving (CCPG), and the Data and Marketers Association (DMA).
