A GIFT TO DERMATOLOGY'S FUTURE

Tomorrow’s discoveries depend on the research we support today.

As you reflect on how far dermatology has come, you have an opportunity to help shape what comes next. Groundbreaking discoveries and treatments that change patients’ lives depend on the research we support today.

Through the DF Visionary Society, you can leave a legacy that expands what is possible for patients for generations to come.

Ensure Generations of Hope

Like the transformational gift from the Kaess Trust, your estate plans ensure tomorrow’s scientists have the funding to discover life-changing treatments.

The Dermatology Foundation is the most aptly named organization in our community because it truly provides the foundation for the growth and advancement of our specialty. What better way to spend one’s resources than to give back to the group that has supported the development of our most prominent researchers and new therapeutics over the past 6 decades?! Researchers funded by the DF have contributed to the development of biologics, JAK inhibitors, lasers and other advanced therapeutics. Supporting the Visionary Society is my way of leaving a legacy that will help future generations of dermatologists advance their careers and enhance the care of our patients beyond what I can even imagine today.

Simple ways to shape the future of dermatology

There are several ways to include the Dermatology Foundation in your plans. We encourage you to talk with your financial or legal advisor about the option that fits you best.

A gift in your will or trust

Name the Dermatology Foundation in your will or living trust for a specific amount, a percentage, or what remains after other gifts are made.

A retirement account beneficiary

Name the Dermatology Foundation as a beneficiary of your IRA or 401(k) by updating the beneficiary form with your plan provider.

A donor advised fund

If you have a donor advised fund, you can name the Dermatology Foundation as a beneficiary of the balance remaining in your fund.

A qualified charitable distribution

If you are 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA to the Dermatology Foundation. Ask your advisor how this may count toward your required minimum distribution.

My career in dermatology has kept me challenged and engaged — always learning. My volunteer time with the Derm Foundation has led to a deeper appreciation of the impact their awards make to our patients and the future of dermatology.  I am honored to be a Visionary Society member so the spirit of always learning continues.

After decades of working to develop the next generation of dermatologists, I feel there is no greater gift I can leave than an investment in the promising research they will do to transform patient care in the future.
