The Dermatology Foundation offers 10
lectureships a year designed to enhance state
dermatological societies' efforts to provide both
education and information to their members. This
popular program is an example of the partnership
between the Foundation and industry, and is made
possible by a grant to the Foundation from Galderma
Laboratories.
Lectureships are available to eligible state
dermatological societies. Funding consists of a $500 honorarium and
approved travel expenses for a speaker chosen by the
organizers of the societies' meetings from a list
compiled by the Dermatology Foundation. The state's
Leaders Society Campaign Chair opens the lectureship
by introducing the guest speaker with a slide
presentation prepared by the Foundation.
More than 80 state societies have
participated in the Leaders Society Guest
Lectureship program. The program has resulted in
increased support of the Foundation on the part of
members of the specialty, and demonstrates the
commitment of dermatologic industry to research that
enhances patient care.
To be considered for a Leaders Society Guest
Lectureship for your society, please complete an
application form and return it to the Dermatology
Foundation office. Lectureships are limited to ten
per year, as a result, they are scheduled on a
"first come, first served" basis. If a lectureship is available,
guidelines and a list of speakers will be forwarded to
the designated contact person.
